Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to a dedicated panel of senior patients, focusing on those with multiple chronic conditions.
- Manage a patient panel with a maximum of 450 individuals, allowing for personalized care and stronger provider-patient relationships.
- Deliver care to an average of 18 patients per day, incorporating value-based care principles to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated support team, including a Medical Assistant, Scheduler, and Referral Specialist, to ensure coordinated patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- Utilize scheduled administrative time within the workday for documentation and care coordination, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
- Participate in a Monday through Friday clinic schedule, with no nights or weekends required. Clinic hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM.
- Engage in ongoing partnership opportunities, with more than half of providers achieving partner status after one year, without a financial buy-in required.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, such as cardiologists and podiatrists, as well as providers of holistic health services, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Support the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality, affordable care, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Commitment to value-based, patient-centered care, with a focus on seniors managing multiple chronic diseases.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
