Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
Join a mission-driven, physician-led primary care organization as a full-time Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a panel of up to 450 patients, primarily seniors with multiple chronic conditions, in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Conduct patient visits, seeing an average of 18 patients per day during clinic hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with the last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM).
- Work with a dedicated support team, including a medical assistant, scheduler, and referral specialist, to enhance patient care and streamline administrative tasks.
- Participate in value-based care initiatives, focusing on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and improving health outcomes.
- Utilize administrative time included in your schedule to complete documentation and care coordination tasks efficiently.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of excellence and collaboration among clinical peers.
- Refer patients to in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, as needed for comprehensive care.
- Support holistic health services for patients, including access to acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Commitment to value-based primary care and a passion for serving senior populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
