Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Richmond, VA. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a panel of up to 450 patients, with a focus on seniors managing multiple chronic conditions.
- Deliver value-based care in an outpatient clinical setting, ensuring high standards of medical practice and patient safety.
- Conduct patient visits, manage ongoing treatment plans, and coordinate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiology and podiatry.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated care and support team, including a medical assistant, scheduler, and referral specialist.
- Participate in holistic health initiatives, including integrative services like acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling offered by the clinic.
- Utilize administrative time included in your schedule to complete documentation and care coordination efficiently.
- Maintain a manageable daily patient load (approximately 18 patients per day) to promote work/life balance and ensure quality care.
- Adhere to a Monday through Friday schedule, with clinic hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last patient scheduled at 4:15 p.m.), with no night or weekend requirements.
- Support patients by ensuring access to necessary resources, including no-charge door-to-door transportation for those in need.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered, value-based care to a senior population.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to patient care and teamwork.
