Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join our outpatient medical team in Plant City, FL. As a Primary Care Physician, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to adult patients, focusing on building long-term relationships and providing continuity of care. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a supportive clinical environment, backed by a reputable medical group committed to healthcare excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care to adult patients ages 18 and older in an outpatient setting.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing as needed.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and manage chronic and acute medical conditions.
- Allocate 15-20 minutes per patient, with an average daily patient volume of approximately 20 (23-24 scheduled with consideration for cancellations).
- Participate in a call rotation, with one week of call duty per year to support patient care continuity.
- Rotate Saturday clinic coverage (currently open 8am – 12pm), with differential pay for Saturday shifts.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experienced physicians, advanced practitioners, and multilingual support staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development to ensure the latest medical knowledge and best practices are applied.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM). Candidates with lapsed boards may be considered.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida, or eligibility to obtain one.
- DEA certification and NICA registration preferred, with renewal costs covered by the employer.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt to the needs of a dynamic outpatient clinic.
