Primary Care Medical Director (MD/DO) - Summary- Leadership opportunity for experienced primary care physicians seeking to blend clinical practice with operational and provider management.
- Responsible for clinical quality, operations, and provider performance across a network of primary care clinics.
- Acts as a mentor and leader to physicians, driving strategy and performance improvement.
- Maintains a clinical presence to support patient care and organizational mission.
- Reports to executive and market-level leadership, collaborating on business and care delivery goals.
- Lead and mentor primary care providers (PCPs) across assigned clinics, ensuring high standards of care and clinical excellence.
- Drive operational and clinical performance by supporting and partnering with market operations and executive leadership teams.
- Maintain a patient care panel to remain connected to the clinical model and patient needs.
- Provide input and leadership on initiatives including quality improvement, HEDIS measures, documentation, coding, utilization management, transitional care, specialty network development, and patient engagement.
- Champion the organization’s mission, culture, and high-quality, value-based care model in Birmingham, AL.
- Participate in opening new clinics and contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the market.
- Competitive base salary with total compensation exceeding $370,000, including performance-based bonuses.

- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with a passion for developing clinical teams.
- Ability to travel within the Birmingham, AL market as needed for clinic oversight and collaboration.

- Experienced primary care physician (MD/DO) with a background in internal or family medicine.
- Proven record in value-based or managed care environments.
