Primary Care Medical Director (MD/DO) - Summary
- Serve as market leader for primary care clinical teams across multiple clinics.
- Provide direct patient care as needed while maintaining administrative oversight.
- Drive clinical quality, patient engagement, and staff development.
- Lead and mentor providers, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to strategic organizational goals and initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage primary care providers across 3-5 neighborhood clinics, balancing administrative and clinical duties.
- Deliver direct patient care within clinics as needed to maintain connection with clinical practice.
- Mentor, coach, and develop providers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Oversee clinical operations, working in partnership with the VP of Operations and other leadership members.
- Participate in opening new clinics, including involvement in center setup and early-stage patient care.
- Support established clinics with a focus on administrative leadership and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic input into network development, specialty referrals, and organizational growth.
- Ensure high standards in documentation, coding accuracy, and clinical compliance with policy development.
- Drive initiatives in quality improvement, HEDIS measures, utilization management, and transitional care.
- Promote patient engagement, community outreach, and a positive culture that reflects the organization’s mission.
- Collaborate with corporate teams and peer leaders across markets to share best practices and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM); Geriatrics certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in value-based care (VBC) or managed care environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead clinical teams.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the Milwaukee, WI market as needed.
