Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period.
- Ensure patient safety, support, and education throughout recovery and early parenthood.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams for optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor the health status of postpartum mothers and newborns, including vital signs and physical assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Perform fetal and neonatal monitoring, including interpretation of clinical data and prompt intervention when needed.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, infant feeding, and newborn safety protocols.
- Support mothers in breastfeeding and address lactation concerns in collaboration with lactation consultants.
- Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records using EPIC or similar systems.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in vaginal examinations and other relevant clinical skills.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Mandatory certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Previous experience in Mother/Baby or Postpartum nursing required.
- Proficiency in clinical skills such as fetal monitoring and vaginal examinations.
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable providing care for COVID-19 positive patients.
