The day shift schedule provides consistency and work-life balance, accommodating three 12-hour shifts per week. The unit emphasizes continual learning and professional growth by supporting advanced certifications and ongoing education.
The successful Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates proficiency in postpartum assessments, newborn care, and patient education. The ability to manage both routine and complex clinical situations, including caring for COVID-19 positive patients, is essential. Utilizing technologies such as EPIC for charting and maintaining up-to-date certifications ensures quality and safety for every patient. Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive postpartum assessments for mothers and infants
- Monitor fetal and neonatal well-being, including the use of advanced fetal monitoring technology
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as prescribed
- Educate mothers and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding support
- Document patient information accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide emotional support and counseling to families during the postpartum period
- Maintain infection control standards and adhere to all hospital policies and protocols
- Comfortably care for patients with communicable diseases, including COVID-19
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for mothers and newborns

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Previous experience in Mother/Baby or Postpartum nursing required
- Ability to care for COVID-19 positive patients
