Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases within AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents and client-reported issues independently
- Analyze database performance using PostgreSQL-native tools such as pg_stat_activity, EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE query execution plans, and session monitoring utilities
- Manage and optimize connection pooling strategies utilizing tools like PgBouncer
- Design and implement scalable, highly available database architectures
- Support deployment, migration, upgrades, and patching activities for PostgreSQL databases
