Plumbing SuperintendentThe Plumbing Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems on a variety of commercial projects. This full-time position in Austin, TX involves supervising teams working on projects that range from small, basic commercial installations to large, complex undertakings involving multiple plumbing systems. By ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and specifications, the Plumbing Superintendent plays a vital part in maintaining the high standards of the organization and supporting its ongoing success and growth.
Responsibilities- Supervise all on-site plumbing activities, including the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems for commercial projects of varying complexity.
- Oversee and ensure quality workmanship and compliance with established blueprints, specifications, and codes.
- Administer and enforce the company's safety program, promoting a safe and healthy work environment at all times.
- Coordinate and manage multiple project foremen, ensuring all work is scheduled and completed on time.
- Collaborate with employees and clients, maintaining professional communication and building positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Address and correct safety hazards promptly to ensure a secure workplace.
- Review and interpret plumbing and other craft blueprints, providing guidance to teams as needed.
- Assist in resolving project challenges and adapting to changing site conditions, including working in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing trade, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing blueprints, codes, and specifications is required.
- Proficiency in understanding blueprints from other major trades for integrated project execution.
- Comprehensive understanding of all plumbing systems, including domestic water and medical gas systems.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple foremen across different project sites.
- Proven track record in project scheduling and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Capability to work outdoors and in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Physical ability to work in awkward positions, perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) with or without mechanical assistance, and manage the physical demands of the position.
