Plumbing Engineer, PE, Healthcare – Summary
- Lead the design and development of plumbing systems for healthcare facilities, including hospitals and medical office buildings.
- Oversee new construction and renovation projects from concept through completion.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
- Contribute technical expertise to project management, budgeting, and scheduling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and review plumbing systems for compliance with California Plumbing Code, National Plumbing Code, California Energy Code, HCAI standards, and NFPA-99.
- Lead project teams to deliver technical, administrative, and financial project objectives.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Prepare and present technical documentation and reports for project stakeholders.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD to produce and review engineering drawings.
- Stay current with industry trends, code changes, and healthcare-specific requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

- Competitive annual salary range: $150,000–$183,000

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in plumbing system design for healthcare facilities
- Strong knowledge of California and national plumbing codes, California Energy Code, HCAI standards, and NFPA-99
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit; AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
