The Plating Technician plays a critical role in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors, specializing in the inspection, cleaning, and chemical processing of metal parts and components. This position is responsible for preparing items for various plating applications such as Cadmium, hard chrome, and sulfamate nickel plating, with a primary focus on meeting stringent quality and safety standards. The Plating Technician works closely with a team of fellow platers, planners, and laboratory technicians to ensure all work aligns with customer, company, and industry regulations, including those set by Nadcap, OEMs, and the FAA.
As a Plating Technician, your day-to-day activities will involve detailed inspection and preparation of landing gear components and other critical parts, ensuring every surface is ready for the chemical plating process. Your technical expertise will be essential in operating chemical baths and plating equipment, monitoring chemical concentrations, and adhering to process parameters. Diligent documentation is required for every maintenance and plating action, which involves completing work orders, traveler sheets, bill of materials, and photographic records. All processes must be executed in accordance with internal policies, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Applicants should be detail-oriented and possess strong time management skills. Previous hands-on experience with chemical processing, surface preparation, and inspection methods is required. Plating Technician - Summary
- Responsible for preparation, inspection, and chemical plating of metal components, primarily for aerospace or industrial applications.
- Works with processes including Cadmium plating, hard chrome, and sulfamate nickel plating.
- Ensures compliance with company, customer, Nadcap, OEM, and FAA standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, and prepare parts for plating processes, ensuring all surfaces meet required standards.
- Conduct chemical processing operations such as hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, and LHE cadmium plating.
- Work closely with technical teams to address chemical processing challenges and provide technical support.
- Document all processing activities per internal, customer, and regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Ensure all maintenance actions are documented on work orders, traveler sheets, bill of materials, and photographic records.
- Comply with safety and environmental regulations at all stages of the plating process.
