The Plating Operator plays an essential role in the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality results through precise chemical processing and equipment operation. Plating Operators are responsible for working with chemical baths and sumps to ensure proper etching of printed wiring boards (PWBs), maintaining strict adherence to process specifications and safety protocols. Plating Operator - Summary- Responsible for operating and maintaining plating equipment for PCB manufacturing
- Performs chemical additions to ensure proper etching and plating
- Utilizes computer systems for data entry and process monitoring
- Ensures workplace cleanliness and safety

- Enter operating parameters and job information into computer systems to control plating processes
- Operate and maintain plating and etching equipment within the department
- Accurately measure and add chemicals to baths or sumps as required
- Manually transfer solutions between tanks, totes, or barrels
- Replace and properly dispose of filter materials in process tanks
- Perform cleaning and drying of equipment and mechanical devices
- Conduct general housekeeping to maintain a safe and organized work area
- Inspect finished products for defects and process conformity
- Extract and review computer reports for process verification
- Assist in routine preventative maintenance and basic repairs
- Support replacement of non-precision mechanical devices as needed
- Work safely around open sumps, plating tanks, and mechanical hoists
