The Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) is responsible for assisting in the operating room, evaluating patients in the clinic, and participating in the global management of patient care across the perioperative continuum. As a Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and preventative care for patients preparing for and recovering from surgery. Responsibilities include conducting preoperative physical examinations, documenting comprehensive health histories, ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiographic tests, and preparing discharge summaries. You will also participate actively in daily rounds, write progress notes, conduct patient education, and collaborate closely with case management and oncology teams to address the unique needs of patients, including those with cancer diagnoses.
The position requires a minimum of two years’ experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with first-assist experience in the operating room. Candidates must possess current or eligible licensure as a PA-C or NP in the state of Georgia. Certification as a PA-C or NP is essential, and a background in plastic or general surgery is highly desirable. The Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) will be expected to use evidence-based guidelines in patient care, assess for signs and symptoms of disease progression or recurrence, and address both immediate and long-term effects of surgical and oncologic treatment.
This full-time role features a schedule of Monday through Friday with shared call responsibilities on alternating weekends.
