Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage in business development by regularly contacting pre-construction departments of targeted general contractors to identify new opportunities.
- Evaluate potential projects to ensure alignment with company goals and profitability targets.
- Review all project plans, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and contracts to identify potential impacts and risks.
- Utilize computer-based takeoff and estimating systems to deliver reproducible, accurate results for each project.
- Coordinate project drawings, scopes, and communication with other trades to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Prepare requests for information (RFIs) and actively solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Develop detailed project recaps, general conditions, schedules, and relevant correspondence for bid submissions.
- Run job reports and prepare for bid reviews with management, ensuring all aspects of the project are thoroughly covered.
- Support project sales, including scope of supply development, presentations, negotiations, and closing activities.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to present scope, work plan, budget, and limitations to project teams.
- Assist in tracking labor productivity, participate in daily staff meetings, and monitor production to ensure project success.
- Support the development of alternative plans for projects not meeting budgeted performance objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience estimating large-scale construction projects related to high-purity process piping systems.
- Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software such as FastPIPE, FastDUCT, Trimble Autobid, Bluebeam, QuickPen, or similar tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Preferred: Experience with semiconductor and/or biopharmaceutical construction projects.
- Field, craft, or piping trade background, or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
- Understanding of related piping systems, including plumbing and HVAC, is beneficial.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, read printed/digital documents, and access confined spaces.
- Able to climb ladders, enter trenches or attics, and work in noisy environments while wearing PPE.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail required.
