Physician Assistant – Thoracic Surgery (PA-C) Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first assist support in thoracic and robotic surgery procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care within thoracic, minimally invasive, and foregut service lines
- Perform clinical assessments and manage some inpatient care in collaboration with the surgical team
- Utilize advanced surgical technology, including the DaVinci XI robotic platform, for minimally invasive procedures
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans
- Assist with patient education and counseling regarding surgical procedures and recovery processes
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations
- Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards while working across multiple facilities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Physician Assistant (PA-C) board certification – required
- Current Connecticut state licensure – preferred
- Demonstrated experience in thoracic surgery and proficiency with the DaVinci XI robotic surgical system – required
