Physician Assistant – Thoracic Surgery (PA-C) Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist thoracic surgeons in a wide range of surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments of thoracic surgery patients
- Provide direct patient care, including education, counseling, and post-surgical follow-up
- Collaborate with specialists in Lung & Respiratory Care, Digestive Care, and Cancer Care to ensure integrated treatment plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and care planning meetings
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with institutional standards
- Facilitate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy, and thoracoscopy
- Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices within the thoracic surgery department

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active Physician Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Virginia
- Previous experience in thoracic surgery or related surgical specialty strongly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in minimally invasive surgical techniques and patient management
