Physician Assistant (PA) – Hospitalist Summary
- Provide advanced clinical care to hospitalized patients in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Participate in daily patient rounds, documentation, and care coordination within the hospitalist service.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and adhere to hospital protocols to ensure optimal patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough history and physical examinations on hospitalized patients.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and imaging studies.
- Develop differential diagnoses and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, specialists, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient encounters and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and manage acute issues as they arise.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to hospitalist program development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Active state licensure as required for practice in MI.
- Prior experience in a hospitalist or inpatient care setting strongly preferred.
