As a Physician Assistant - Orthopedics (PA-C), you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care within the scope of your privileges, including thorough evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, referral, preventive services, patient education, and emergency recognition. This role encompasses a diverse patient population, addressing both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions as well as general medical concerns. Collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams is a key aspect of this position, ensuring a coordinated, patient-centered approach to care and optimal outcomes for military members and beneficiaries.

Physician Assistant - Orthopedics (PA-C) Summary
- Provide a full spectrum of orthopedic and primary care services to military members, veterans, and their families.
- Engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary team-based care to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in medical readiness evaluations and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for acute and chronic orthopedic conditions and general medical issues.
- Provide preventive services, patient education, and emergency recognition within the scope of current privileges.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Perform occupational medical evaluations and assessments related to medical readiness (MEB/TDRL) for military members.
- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and provide counseling in accordance with established protocols and privileges.
- Participate in staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and in-service training sessions.
- Document findings, assessments, and recommendations clearly and accurately in medical records and narrative summaries.
- Adhere to all established clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance through patient and family education.
- Identify complex medical problems, determine appropriate actions, and refer cases to physicians as needed.
- Supervise and provide care in both outpatient and surgical settings as required.
- Comply with all legal and ethical boundaries of medical practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification as PA-C.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in General Surgery or Orthopedic patient care within the last 36 months.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
