Physician Assistant – Critical Care (PA-C) Summary- Locum tenens opportunity for experienced PA-C in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Manage and treat critically ill patients in a 6-8 bed unit within a level one trauma center
- Perform advanced procedures such as starting central and arterial lines, and managing chest tubes and surgical drains
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
- Work primarily night shifts (12-hour shifts, three per week) including two weekends per month
- Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Perform invasive procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and management of chest tubes and surgical drains
- Monitor patient progress, interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care strategies
- Document patient progress and interventions accurately in electronic medical records
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and care expectations
