Physician Assistant – Critical Care (PA-C) Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Perform invasive procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and management of chest tubes and surgical drains
- Monitor patient progress, interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care strategies
- Document patient progress and interventions accurately in electronic medical records
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and care expectations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital protocols and best practices

- Active and unrestricted Board Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Previous experience in a critical care or ICU environment required
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing central and arterial line insertions, and managing chest tubes and surgical drains
