As a Physician Assistant – Breast Oncology (PA-C), you will work under the direct supervision of a Breast Surgical Oncologist, ensuring the provision of safe and effective care. The core responsibilities include clinical evaluation, perioperative management, patient education, and contributing to the development of individualized treatment plans. Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with or at risk for breast cancer
- Conduct clinical evaluations, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing physical assessments
- Manage perioperative and discharge planning for breast oncology patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests and procedures as needed
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare facilities, agencies, and community resources
- Participate in outpatient follow-up visits, cancer surveillance, and clinical trial enrollment
- Document patient care activities thoroughly in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements
- Uphold patient confidentiality and foster positive interpersonal relationships within the healthcare team
- Engage in professional development activities, such as attending seminars and workshops, to maintain certification and stay abreast of the latest trends in breast oncology

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or equivalent Physician Assistant (PA-C) degree
- Active Georgia RN license and Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license, if applicable
- Minimum of 3 years of advanced practice provider experience in oncology surgery
- Preferred 2 years of experience in breast surgery, including procedural competencies such as punch biopsies and ultrasound utilization
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- ONS certification and AOCNP preferred
