Physical Therapist Assistant PTA - Summary
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Implement and adapt therapy interventions based on the physician-certified Plan of Care.
- Promote patient independence through education and instruction on home exercise programs and assistive device usage.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages patient progress and recovery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy procedures and exercises as outlined in the Plan of Care.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapy protocols, safety, and use of prosthetic or assistive devices.
- Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and any changes in condition.
- Adhere strictly to State Practice Act Guidelines and company policies.
- Document all therapy sessions and patient interactions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with lifting and transferring patients as needed, maintaining patient safety throughout all activities.
- Support patients and families through compassionate, patient-focused care delivery.
- May participate in on-call duties as required by the agency.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program recognized by the American Therapy Association.
- Current and unrestricted PTA license valid in the state of employment.
- Preferred minimum of six months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant PTA.
- Dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned area as part of the role.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers as required.
