Physical Therapist (PT) Job OverviewOur organization is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our established pain management group in Memphis, TN. As an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, the Physical Therapist (PT) will play a critical role in helping patients manage and alleviate pain, restore functional movement, and improve overall quality of life. This opportunity is available for a Full-time professional who is passionate about advancing patient care within a collaborative and supportive outpatient environment.
Located in Memphis, TN, this role offers the unique experience of working in a city known for its vibrant culture and medical community. Our group operates a fully staffed, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)-certified Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Outpatient Program, emphasizing evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to pain management.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and assess patients experiencing chronic pain, with a focus on spinal conditions, while also addressing a diverse range of musculoskeletal concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed to reduce pain, enhance mobility, and restore function.
- Incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities including manual therapy, dry needling, posture awareness, body mechanics education, gait training, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-evaluation, cryotherapy, heat stimulation, electrical stimulation, virtual reality, and ultrasound.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and mid-level providers to ensure seamless patient care and continuity of treatment.
- Conduct an average of 8-10 patient appointments daily, with a maximum caseload of 12 patients per day to ensure quality, individualized care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Provide patient education on pain management, self-care techniques, and strategies to prevent recurrence of symptoms.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; candidates with equivalent qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy required.
- Expertise in treating chronic pain conditions and spinal disorders is highly valued.
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team-based setting.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist (PT) license, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Tennessee.
Our practice includes a collaborative group of five physicians and ten mid-level providers who work together across three locations. All new patients are initially evaluated by a physician before a PA places the order for in-house physical therapy services, ensuring a coordinated and thorough approach to pain management.
Physical Therapists in our program are encouraged to utilize hands-on manual therapy and innovative treatment modalities to address deep pain, muscle tightness, and joint stiffness. The position provides opportunities to work closely with experienced clinicians and contribute to a CARF-accredited program recognized for excellence in rehabilitation.
