The PTA performs direct physical therapy services under supervision, following the Plan of Care and physicians orders, and promotes optimal patient outcomes through instruction, support, and safe care techniques.
- Promotes Elara Carings mission and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
- Performs direct therapy services in accordance with accepted practice standards and physician certification.
- Follows and verifies the Plan of Care as established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Incorporates patient goals and provides instruction on the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Adheres to State Practice Act guidelines.
- Instructs patients and caregivers in the home therapy program.
- Works in a physically demanding environment, with frequent lifting and patient transfers.
- May work irregular hours, including on-call if applicable.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- 6+ months of PTA experience preferred.
- Able and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area (up to 50%).
- Must have a dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, or support up to 50 pounds.
