Job Description:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Elara Caring, you will provide direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and under physician certification, ensuring continuity and quality of care. You will follow the established Plan of Care under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and promptly report any changes in patient status. Duties include instructing patients and families in the proper use of prosthetic and assistive devices, developing care goals consistent with the therapeutic plan, and teaching home exercise programs. The role requires adherence to the State Practice Act and the ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment with frequent lifting, handling, and patient transfers.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- At least 6 months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel within branch/office coverage area (up to 50%).
- Dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance required.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
