Job Description:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, youll contribute to our success by promoting Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care. You will perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and physician certification to ensure quality and continuity of care. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will follow the Plan of Care, provide care according to physicians orders, assessment data, and established guidelines, and immediately report any status changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Incorporate patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care.
- Instruct patients and families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Teach the patient and/or caregiver the home exercise program.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and transferring patients.
- Potentially work irregular hours as needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of employment.
- At least 6 months of experience preferred.
- Dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance required.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within branch coverage area.
- Ability to lift, push, and support up to 50 pounds.
