Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy interventions as outlined in the patient’s individualized plan of care.
- Follow the direction and supervision of the physical therapist, reporting any changes in patient status promptly.
- Verify and review the plan of care prior to each visit, ensuring all care is provided in accordance with current guidelines and physician orders.
- Incorporate patient-specific goals into each therapy session and monitor progress towards these objectives.
- Educate and instruct patients and their families or caregivers in the safe and effective use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Teach home exercise programs and safety techniques to promote continued recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient visits, interventions, and observations.
- Comply with all state Practice Act guidelines and adhere to organizational and regulatory policies.
- Perform physical requirements of the position, including lifting, transferring, and supporting patients as needed.
- Adapt to a physically demanding and sometimes high-stress environment, including working irregular or on-call hours as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of employment.
- Preferably, at least six months' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a healthcare or home health setting.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned coverage area, with a dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Current auto insurance in compliance with state laws.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including assisting with patient transfers and equipment movement.
