Core Responsibilities:
- Promotes Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
- Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and under physician certification.
- Follows the Plan of Care established by the supervising Physical Therapist, reporting any changes in patient status promptly.
- Adheres to State Practice Act Guidelines.
- Verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provides care according to physicians orders and established standards.
- Incorporates patient care goals into therapy care plans.
- Instructs patients and families on safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Educates patients and caregivers on home therapy programs.
- Maintains physical capability to lift, transfer, and move patients and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of employment.
- 6+ months of PTA experience preferred.
- Able and willing to travel within the branch coverage area (up to 50%).
- Must have a dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
