Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Summary
- Contribute to patient care by delivering prescribed physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy services as directed by the supervising physical therapist and according to physician-ordered care plans.
- Promote the organization’s philosophy, mission, and administrative policies to ensure excellence in care delivery.
- Conduct therapy interventions in compliance with state practice act guidelines and accepted standards.
- Verify and understand each patient’s plan of care prior to visits and deliver services in alignment with those plans.
- Monitor patient progress and promptly communicate changes in condition to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of assistive devices, including canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Instruct patients and families in therapy home programs to support ongoing recovery and independence.
- Perform duties involving full range of body motion, including handling, lifting, and transferring patients.
- Adapt to physically demanding environments and manage stress effectively within the role.
- Adhere to all established safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for practice in the state of employment.
- Minimum of six months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred, but not required.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the designated branch or office coverage area as needed.
- Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in compliance with local laws.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including patient transfer and equipment movement.
