Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow the Plan of Care established by the supervising Physical Therapist and ensure all therapy interventions are provided as prescribed.
- Conduct therapy sessions in accordance with best practice standards and the patient’s individualized care plan.
- Report any changes in patient status or condition immediately to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Adhere strictly to the State Practice Act Guidelines and all relevant administrative policies.
- Verify and review the Plan of Care before each visit to ensure accuracy.
- Provide comprehensive instruction to patients and families regarding the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Teach and reinforce therapy home programs to promote patient independence and engagement in their recovery.
- Operate professionally in physically demanding and potentially high-stress environments.
- Assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting patients as required by their care plan.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program recognized by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for practice in the applicable state.
- Preferred minimum of 6 months' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, though new graduates may also be considered.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned branch coverage area as required by patient caseloads.
- Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and valid auto insurance in compliance with state laws.
- Physical ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
