Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Summary
- Deliver patient-focused physical therapy services under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist
- Support and implement Elara Caring's mission to provide high-quality home-based care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold Elara Caring's philosophy, mission, and administrative policies to ensure exceptional quality of care
- Perform direct physical therapy interventions according to established standards of practice and physician certification
- Follow the Plan of Care as developed by the supervising Physical Therapist and promptly report changes in patient status
- Adhere to State Practice Act Guidelines and provide care as per physicians' orders, assessment data, and established guidelines
- Incorporate patient care goals specified in the Plan of Care into therapy sessions
- Instruct patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
- Educate patients and caregivers about therapy home programs to promote ongoing recovery and independence
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds in physically demanding work environments
- Maintain flexibility to work irregular hours, including call hours as applicable

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license valid for the state of practice
- Preferably at least six months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Ability and willingness to travel within the designated branch or office coverage area (up to 50%)
- Valid driver's license, dependable vehicle, and current auto insurance
