Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Summary
- Support the healthcare needs of service members, veterans, and their families by providing comprehensive pharmacy technician services.
- Work within a collaborative team to ensure medication accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Utilize your certification and training as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to deliver efficient, patient-focused care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process new and refill outpatient prescriptions accurately and efficiently using pharmacy databases and systems.
- Dispense medications, ensuring correct labeling, dosage, and instructions for use.
- Provide support to patients and healthcare providers regarding medication-related inquiries, including information on drug interactions and reporting adverse reactions.
- Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering supplies, stocking and restocking medications, and conducting regular inventory checks.
- Perform quality assurance activities such as inspecting drug storage areas, reviewing expired supplies, and documenting errors or discrepancies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to remain current on best practices and regulatory standards in pharmacy operations.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy work environment by adhering to all protocols and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), or a recognized equivalent such as a technical, hospital, or retail-based program, or military medical services training.
- Current certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required.
- Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year experience as a pharmacy technician within the last three to four years.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
