Perfusionist, CCP - Summary
- Operate extracorporeal circulation equipment and heart-lung machines during complex surgical procedures.
- Monitor and adjust patient physiological parameters to maintain optimal clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams in high-acuity healthcare settings.
- Ensure equipment functionality and safety in accordance with industry standards and hospital protocols.
- Provide documentation and communication before, during, and after procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate heart-lung machines and related devices for cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.
- Monitor patient status, including hemodynamics, blood gases, and anticoagulation levels.
- Implement appropriate interventions to optimize patient care during surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to plan and execute perfusion strategies.
- Conduct equipment checks, maintenance, and calibration to ensure operational readiness.
- Document all aspects of perfusion care and communicate findings to the surgical team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Assist in organ preservation and blood management as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in perfusion technology or a related field required.
- Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
- Previous experience in cardiac perfusion or operating room environment highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular physiology, medical devices, and critical care protocols.
