You’ll be joining a collaborative team of five experienced perfusionists, sharing call responsibilities and working at the forefront of cardiac surgical innovation.
The program features a robust ECMO transport service and fosters an environment where collaboration between cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and perfusionists is not only encouraged but essential for patient-centered care. The academic setting also provides opportunities to contribute to clinical trials and education, supporting the advancement of perfusion science and best practices in cardiac surgery.
As a Perfusionist (CCP), your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining heart-lung machines and other cardiopulmonary support devices, managing blood conservation systems such as Cell Savers and Rapid Infusers, and providing expertise with ECMO, IABP, and VADs. You will also collaborate closely with surgical and critical care teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for adult cardiac surgery patients.
The contract schedule for this Perfusionist (CCP) position is Monday through Friday, with five shifts per week and participation in an on-call rotation (1 in 5). To qualify for this Perfusionist (CCP) contract position, you must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an active state perfusion license and be certified or board-eligible through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). At least one year of clinical perfusionist experience is preferred, although all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care, and the ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity surgical environments.
