Pediatric Triage Nurse RN - Summary
- Full-time opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in pediatric triage.
- Serve as a first point of contact for patient inquiries, primarily via telephone.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, healthcare providers, and administrative staff in an outpatient clinical setting.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone triage for pediatric patients, accurately assessing symptoms and determining the appropriate level of care.
- Explain treatment methods, procedures, and next steps to patients and their families in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Administer first aid, treat injuries, illnesses, and communicable diseases as needed in a clinic or outpatient setting.
- Obtain and document comprehensive patient health histories, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as ATHENA.
- Provide vaccine injections and ensure adherence to immunization schedules.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and prioritize care based on clinical urgency.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in vaccine administration and injection techniques.
- Experience working in outpatient and/or critical care settings, preferably with pediatric patients.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems, with experience using ATHENA preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage patient inquiries efficiently and professionally.
