The Pediatric Registered Nurse (Pediatric RN) will deliver comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to pediatric patients, ranging from newborns to adolescents up to 18 years of age. This vital role requires proficiency in advanced patient assessment, clinical documentation, medication administration, infection control, emergency response, and effective coordination with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The Pediatric RN serves as a patient and family advocate, ensuring holistic and compassionate care during every phase of the patient's journey.

Pediatric Registered Nurse (Pediatric RN) - Summary- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Serve as a patient and family advocate
- Support the mission of promoting health and readiness for military families
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-specific nursing care for pediatric patients
- Perform critical care duties for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions
- Administer medications using safe practices and within nursing scope
- Monitor, interpret, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Assist physicians during treatments, examinations, and procedures
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management
- Initiate intravenous lines, collect blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis
- Implement infection control protocols, especially for immunocompromised patients
- Operate and monitor emergency medical equipment such as defibrillators and cardiac monitors
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, urinary catheterization, and personal care tasks
- Respond promptly to emergencies, initiating life-saving measures as required
- Participate in quality assurance and risk management activities
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation using Department of Nursing standards
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care
- Contribute to research projects and committee work as assigned

- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited institution (NLNAC or CCNE)
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum of two years nursing experience within the last four years, preferably in pediatric or family practice settings
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric nursing care
- Proficiency in patient and family education, clinical assessment, and emergency response
- Passionate about pediatric nursing and serving military families
- Highly skilled in critical care and complex patient management
- Excellent communicator and effective collaborator with multidisciplinary teams
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, committed to delivering high-quality patient care
- Adaptable and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated to ongoing learning and professional growth
- Work schedule may include variable shifts, including weekends
- Full-time employment with maximum 40 hours per week
