Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate extracorporeal circulation and blood testing equipment during a variety of pediatric and neonatal cardiac surgeries, including high-complexity congenital repairs and heart/lung transplants.
- Collaborate within a dual-perfusionist team to ensure optimal patient safety, real-time monitoring, and precise machine operation throughout all procedures.
- Manage advanced mechanical circulatory support systems such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), ventricular assist devices (VAD), and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for Level IV NICU and pediatric patients.
- Participate in a full-time rotation, including days, evenings, holidays, and on-call duties, to provide continuous coverage and support for critically ill patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of perfusion activities, adhering to established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest technologies and best practices in pediatric perfusion.
- Demonstrate commitment to a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, actively communicating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential is required.
- Eligibility for a state perfusionist license is mandatory; active licensure preferred.
- Graduate of an ABCP-accredited cardiovascular perfusion training program.
- Demonstrated experience managing neonatal and pediatric perfusion circuits in high-acuity settings.
- Strong knowledge of IABP, VAD, and ECMO systems as applied to pediatric and neonatal intensive care patients.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and the highest standards of clinical care.
