As a Pediatric Perfusionist (CCP), you will play a vital role in supporting complex cardiovascular procedures for pediatric patients. Your expertise in operating and maintaining advanced perfusion equipment, such as heart-lung machines, autotransfusion devices, and ventricular assist devices, will be essential to ensuring optimal patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, contributing your knowledge and skills in the management of extracorporeal circulation and related procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all perfusion equipment, including heart-lung machines, autotransfusion devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and ventricular assist devices for pediatric patients
- Ensure effective anticoagulation management during extracorporeal procedures and oversee safe reversal protocols
- Provide myocardial protection by closely monitoring temperature, time, pressure, and volume delivery, and communicate critical status updates to the surgical team
- Monitor and maintain adequate perfusion, including assessment of blood gases, electrolyte levels, hematocrit, urine output, blood pressure, cerebral perfusion, and anesthesia
- Administer blood products and medications as directed by medical staff
- Perform point-of-care laboratory analysis during cardiopulmonary bypass, such as ACT measurements, arterial blood gases, electrolytes, and hematocrit levels
- Participate in the collection and entry of STS (Society of Thoracic Surgeons) data for quality analysis and improvement initiatives
- Contribute to CAP POC (College of American Pathologists Point-of-Care) testing by performing daily and monthly quality controls

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- Graduation from an accredited Perfusion Education program required
- Master's degree preferred
- Current certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required
- Valid licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required
- Demonstrated experience with pediatric patients strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of perfusion technology and related clinical practices
