As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (CPNP-AC), you will play a key part in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP), where you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of acutely ill pediatric patients. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals in an environment equipped with advanced medical technology and a focus on compassionate, family-centered care. This full-time role offers 12-hour shifts, typically totaling about 12 shifts per month, and has no on-call requirements, allowing for a balanced and predictable schedule.
The hospital setting utilizes the Epic electronic medical record system, ensuring seamless documentation and communication across care teams. The PICU and TCUP collectively offer over 35 beds, providing care for a diverse patient population with a variety of complex medical and surgical needs. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (CPNP-AC) will be instrumental in managing patients throughout their critical care journey, from acute stabilization to transitional support prior to discharge or transfer to other levels of care.
This position is well-suited for practitioners who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity settings, and who possess strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will hold an active California license, possess DEA registration, and be board certified as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (CPNP-AC). At least one year of experience in a pediatric intensive care or hospitalist setting is required, ensuring the practitioner is adept at managing the unique needs of critically ill children.
