The role is available on a contract basis, with a typical assignment duration of 26 weeks. This is an excellent chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) setting.

The assignment offers flexibility in scheduling, with options for full-time or part-time shifts. Shifts are 12 hours in length, available during both days and nights, and can be scheduled as 3 shifts per week or in blocks, depending on your preferences and the needs of the CICU. Your expertise will be vital in covering high-acuity cases in the CICU, performing pediatric procedures, and collaborating with attending physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to provide holistic and family-centered care.

Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Temporary contract position (approximately 26 weeks) in a premier Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
- Open to experienced Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PA-C).
- Flexible scheduling options with 12-hour day and night shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions in the CICU.
- Perform advanced pediatric procedures as required by the unit.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed for optimal outcomes.
- Educate and support patients' families throughout the care continuum.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with all regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license.
- Current DEA registration.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- For Physician Assistants (PA-C): Willingness to obtain state licensure (processing time approximately 6 weeks).
- Experience in pediatric cardiac critical care and proficiency in relevant procedures strongly preferred.
