The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care APP will be integrated into a specialized unit dedicated to the management and care of pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. The facility boasts a robust cardiac surgical program, including advanced support modalities such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and is actively expanding to incorporate long-term ventricular assist devices (VADs) and heart transplantation services. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to high-acuity patients.

Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Summary
- Key member of a multidisciplinary pediatric cardiac ICU team

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including premature neonates through adults with congenital heart disease (CHD)
- Collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Participate in daily patient care rounds, monitor patient status, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Manage patients requiring short-term mechanical circulatory support (e.g., ECMO)
- Support expansion efforts for long-term mechanical circulatory support programs (VADs) and heart transplantation
- Deliver care in 12-hour shifts, providing continuous coverage for the pediatric cardiac ICU
- Document all patient encounters and interventions accurately and in a timely manner
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and ongoing health needs
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational programs within the unit

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with authorization to practice in a pediatric critical care setting
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric cardiac critical care or pediatric intensive care preferred
- Advanced knowledge of congenital and acquired pediatric heart disease management
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support systems (ECMO, VADs) is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the program
