Palm Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric NP, PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our specialized pediatric cardiology team on an inpatient basis. This full-time opportunity is a locum assignment, ideal for professionals passionate about delivering exceptional care to pediatric patients recovering from cardiac surgery. Based in Dallas, TX, this role directly supports the expansion of our pediatric cardiac unit, providing advanced care to young patients and their families in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
As a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric NP, PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in patient management within a dedicated cardiac pediatric floor unit. The successful candidate must bring at least one year of advanced practice experience in pediatric critical care, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for post-operative pediatric cardiology patients. You will be responsible for a range of advanced procedures, clinical assessments, and care coordination activities directly impacting patient outcomes. Our new cardiac unit features between 6-8 beds, allowing for focused and attentive care of each patient. The position includes a flexible schedule with 12-13 hour shifts, covering days, nights, and weekends, with the expectation of at least six shifts every four weeks. Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric NP, PNP-AC) - Summary- Locum position for an experienced Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Join a dedicated team in a specialized pediatric cardiac inpatient unit
- Support post-operative care for pediatric cardiology patients
- Assignment based in Dallas, TX
- Full-time, shift-based schedule with day, night, and weekend coverage
- Provide advanced nursing and clinical care for pediatric patients recovering from cardiac surgery
- Perform clinical procedures including line removal, management of drips, titration, and monitoring
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
- Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards

- Current, valid licensure as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant
- Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in pediatric critical care as an advanced practice provider
- Competency in clinical procedures relevant to pediatric cardiac care (line removal, drips, titration)
- Ability to commit to at least six (6) 12-13 hour shifts every four weeks, including days, nights, and weekends
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Dedication to clinical excellence and patient-centered care
- Experienced Pediatric NP or PA with a background in pediatric cardiac or critical care
- Demonstrates adaptability and resilience in fast-paced clinical settings
