Patient Registration Specialist - Summary
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient admissions and registration.
- Ensure registration procedures are conducted efficiently and in compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, assisting them with healthcare decisions and registration processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately register new and returning patients, ensuring all information is complete and up-to-date.
- Verify insurance details, eligibility, and authorization requirements, avoiding the creation of duplicate records.
- Collect co-pays and deductibles as required, and maintain precise financial records in accordance with Medicare and regulatory guidelines.
- Answer incoming calls, route faxes and messages appropriately, and follow established departmental protocols.
- Adhere to a 97% registration accuracy rate, ensuring all data is entered correctly and efficiently.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and comply with all HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Follow safety practices and hospital-based federal rules as they relate to patient registration and billing.

Qualifications & Requirements
