Patient Care Supervisor RN - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise patient care teams to ensure effective and compassionate delivery of care within the surgical unit
- Collaborate closely with nurse managers on staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain optimal clinical operations
- Support patient and family education initiatives; serve as a service ambassador to resolve concerns and enhance patient experience
- Coordinate daily staff assignments and workflows to promote patient flow efficiency and high-quality outcomes
- Participate actively in hourly rounding and ensure adherence to organizational standards and protocols
- Uphold the mission, philosophy, and policies of the health system, consistently demonstrating a commitment to exceptional care
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth within the unit

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; exceptions apply for RNs hired prior to 2/2012. RNs hired after 2/2012 with an Associate Degree must complete BSN within 5 years.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), as applicable to unit
- Certification in nursing specialty area required within two years of hire or promotion
- Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience; prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
