As a Paramedic (EMT-P), you will be a crucial member of a comprehensive emergency medical services (EMS) team, providing basic and advanced life support to individuals in need. Your role involves assessing patient conditions, administering medical interventions, documenting care provided, and ensuring the seamless coordination of EMS transport when necessary. Paramedic (EMT-P) Summary- Provide advanced and basic life support care as part of a comprehensive EMS response team.
- Support the health and readiness of service members, veterans, and their families.
- Operate under medical oversight and adhere to established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and safety.
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate treatment pathways in accordance with protocols.
- Provide triage and medical support during training events, including aquatic and land-based modules.
- Refer stable patients to on-staff physicians or appropriate specialists as indicated.
- Activate EMS and arrange transport for unstable patients or those with emergent conditions.
- Stabilize patients experiencing physical trauma, heat stroke, near drowning, and other emergencies.
- Document all patient injuries, treatments, and medical releases accurately.
- Communicate effectively with EMS responders and medical personnel.
- Inventory, replace, and clean supplies and equipment after use; assist with maintenance of clinical spaces and response vehicles.
- Support medical monitoring of training event modules as directed.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current National EMT-P Certification (National Registry) or state license at the EMT-Paramedic level, or higher.
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic program or a program with a CoAEMSP "Letter of Review" within the past two years.
- For those who began education after August 1, 2016, successful completion of a psychomotor competency portfolio is required.
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- At least three years of Paramedic experience within the last five years.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Demonstrates excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Physically fit and able to meet rigorous physical and environmental demands.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable and able to work non-standard schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Committed to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Physical requirements include swimming, passing the Navy Physical Readiness Test, and performing medical recompression chamber duties.
- Must be able to traverse uneven or wooded terrain and extricate patients from challenging locations.
- Ability to perform strenuous activities such as lifting up to 100 lbs., running, jumping, crawling, and moving over obstacles up to 10 feet high.
- May be required to travel up to 1.5 miles over rough terrain in extreme temperatures.
