As a Paramedic (EMT-P), you will be directly involved in onsite medical assessment, triage, and emergency response for individuals participating in rigorous training activities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all medical emergencies and injuries are managed promptly and professionally, in accordance with established protocols and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The successful Paramedic (EMT-P) candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, possess extensive experience in emergency medical services, and demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in diverse and challenging environments.
This full-time Paramedic (EMT-P) position requires adaptability to a non-standard schedule, including extended hours, rotating shifts, and potential weekend or holiday work, ensuring comprehensive medical coverage during all training sessions. Paramedic (EMT-P) - Summary
- Deliver onsite emergency medical support, triage, and stabilization for training participants.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, supporting the health and recovery of individuals under your care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with the latest protocols and best practices within emergency medical services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans per local protocol.
- Provide triage for individuals unable to participate in training due to medical or musculoskeletal reasons, referring stable cases to the appropriate clinic or specialist.
- Monitor high-risk training events, including aquatic and land-based modules, and provide immediate medical response as needed.
- Respond to and stabilize emergencies such as physical trauma, heat stroke, or near-drowning incidents, activating EMS and coordinating transport as required.
- Document the nature of injuries and emergency care provided for seamless handoff to EMS responders.
- Maintain and replenish medical supplies and equipment after each use.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, sports medicine providers, athletic trainers, physical therapists, operational psychologists, and strength coaches.
- Coordinate daily with medical directors, supervisors, preceptors, and lead paramedics to ensure proper medical oversight in line with national and state standards for Paramedic (EMT-P) practice.
- Keep comprehensive records of all injuries, treatments, rehabilitation processes, and medical releases, sharing relevant information with the medical staff as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current National EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) Certification (National Registry) or state license at the EMT-Paramedic level or higher.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training.
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic program or a program with a CoAEMSP "Letter of Review" within the past two years.
- For those who began Paramedic education after August 1, 2016, successful completion of a psychomotor competency portfolio is required.
- At least three years of experience as a Paramedic (EMT-P) in emergency medical services or a related field.
- Ability to work a flexible, non-standard schedule, including extended hours, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
