Outpatient Physician - Summary
- Provide primary outpatient medical care to a diverse and underserved patient population as a member of an FQHC team.
- Collaborate with a multi-specialty provider base including physicians, advanced practice providers, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in the training and supervision of residents and medical students as part of the health center's teaching mission.
- Support the organizational mission of delivering compassionate, affordable, and high-quality healthcare.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and manage acute and chronic illnesses within an outpatient setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical standards and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support organizational efforts to improve healthcare delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to family medicine residents, medical students, and other learners during clinical rotations.
- Engage in continuing education to remain current with medical advances and best practices in outpatient care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board eligibility or board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty preferred.
- Current and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong interest in medical education and teaching, with a commitment to mentoring future healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse and underserved patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
