As an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon – Locum Tenens, your core responsibilities will include providing 24-hour trauma call coverage, managing complex fractures—including pelvis and acetabulum injuries—and addressing hand trauma cases. The position requires a comprehensive approach to trauma care, including inpatient consults, operative management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility is key, as providers will work a variable schedule based on coverage needs, participating in both call and clinic responsibilities as required by the trauma center.

The ideal candidate for this locum tenens opportunity will be board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship-trained specifically in orthopedic trauma surgery. Candidates must hold—or be in the process of obtaining—an active Arizona medical license and a valid DEA registration. A clean malpractice history is a strict requirement, as is a credentialing file free of any exceptions. The credentialing process is estimated to take approximately 90 days; however, candidates with clean files may be eligible for temporary or emergency privileges to expedite onboarding and ensure timely coverage.
