Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Supports orthopedic surgeons in both operative and non-operative settings
- Provides first assist support during orthopedic surgical procedures

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first assist support to orthopedic surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures
- Conduct pre-operative assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations
- Assist in post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up evaluations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory studies
- Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
- Document all patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the orthopedic department
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation protocols
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide clinical support as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current and valid Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification
- State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant
- First assist surgical experience in orthopedics preferred
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, orthopedic diseases, and surgical procedures
