Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Collaborates with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered orthopedic care.
- Supports the management of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions in both clinical and surgical settings.
- Provides comprehensive care to patients throughout the continuum of orthopedic treatment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and assessments related to orthopedic conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory studies.
- Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room, including preoperative preparation and intraoperative support.
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures under physician supervision, including joint injections, casting, splinting, and wound care.
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans in accordance with best practices and established protocols.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding orthopedic diagnoses, treatment options, and rehabilitation strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
- Document all patient encounters, procedures, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to maintain current knowledge in orthopedic practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Valid and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Previous experience in orthopedic medicine or surgery is preferred but not required.
